Commonplace book and judgments of cases in Halifax, Nova Scotia, 1841-1851.

Contains a commonplace book at the front of the volume begun by James Stewart. The second half of the volume was used by his brother, Alexander Stewart, who was a judge of the vice admiralty court in Halifax. Alexander Stewart donated the volume to Judge Joel Parker in 1860.
